Led by CEO Corey Tyree and based in Knoxville, TN, Trillium Renewable Chemicals has developed proprietary thermochemical technology to convert plant-based feedstocks such as glycerol into valuable intermediates including acrylonitrile and acetonitrile. These intermediates serve as inputs for ABS plastics, carbon fiber, acrylic fiber, nitrile butadiene rubber, acrylamide and specialty amines. The company plans to advance engineering and development of its first commercial-scale manufacturing plant using proceeds from its recent financing. Financially, Trillium has completed a $10.6M Series A and received a $2.5M non-dilutive award from the U.S. Department of Energy prior to this $13M Series B.
