Overview
TxCell is a France-based biotechnology company developing cell-based immunotherapies, focused on antigen-specific regulatory T cell (Treg) therapies. Its lead product candidate, Ovasave, is an antigen-specific Treg cell‑based immunotherapy for Crohn’s disease patients refractory to current treatments. The company intends to use the new capital to advance development of Ovasave. TxCell completed a first-in-man Phase I/II clinical study in France to evaluate the tolerability and efficacy of the product. It is a spin-off of Inserm and is led by chairman and CEO Francois Meyer. The company is based in the technology park of Sophia Antipolis, near Nice in southern France and has been funded by venture capital since 2004, having raised €23.9m to date.
