Overview

Ubamarket provides a 'Scan-Pay-Go' mobile app that is live in a number of UK stores and uses patented 'Magic Shopping List®' technology to guide shoppers and personalise offers. The app is designed to improve the shopper experience while helping retailers save on staffing and hardware and collect comprehensive customer data insights. The company was founded by Will Broome and is based in London. Ubamarket raised £1.25M from IW Capital and intends to use the funds to accelerate growth in the UK. Planned uses include continuing technical integrations, store group launches and ongoing retail roll-outs, particularly with Central Co-op. Key app features include list writing and sharing, in-store guidance, personalised app-only offers, loyalty point collection, age verification, tap-to-checkout and digital receipts. Ubamarket offers a Scan Pay Go (SPG) mobile app built around a patented shopping list technology that allows shoppers to complete purchases using a mobile device. The platform gives retailers the ability to grow basket size, increase loyalty, reduce overheads, and analyse purchasing data. The company is led by CEO Will Broome and currently has partnerships with retailers including SPAR, Budgens and Central Co-Op, and is on course to go live in several retail stores. On 19/12/2022 Ubamarket raised £800K in a funding round led by IW Capital. This tranche brings total funding from IW Capital investors to circa £4.4M. Ubamarket intends to use the funds to expand its market position, grow its app development team as new retailers are onboarded, and deliver personalization for larger retail group rollouts. Ubamarket provides a 'Scan Pay Go' retail tech app that supports contactless payment, interactive menus, facial recognition, takeaways and deliveries. The app is backed by an API cloud-based software that links to venue POS systems so menu changes update in real time. The company has established partnerships with Central England Co-Op and SPAR, demonstrating retail traction. Founded in 2016 and led by CEO Will Broome, Ubamarket plans to use new funding to expand into additional industries such as hospitality. It raised £2.9m in equity funding to support that expansion. The company intends to broaden its business reach beyond its current retail partners.
