Unastella
25, Sinchon 12-gil Nogosan 5th Floor, The Moon Building, Seoul, Seoul-t'ukpyolsi, South Korea
Overview
Unastella develops kerosene/liquid-oxygen launch vehicles and engines, using an electric motor pump architecture, and focuses initially on small-satellite launch services. The company launched its UNA EXPRESS-I from South Korean soil in May 2025 as an end-to-end test of its system and is targeting UNA EXPRESS-II later in the year with a goal of reaching 100 kilometers. Unastella handles design, manufacturing, ground operations, and flight data in-house and employs about 22 people. The founder and CEO, Jae Park, has prior experience on Korea’s Nuri rocket and at the German Aerospace Center. The company is not yet generating revenue and says its near-term priority is validating technology and business viability through orbital launches, with crewed suborbital flight as a longer-term ambition. Total funding now stands at $44 million following the Series B.
