Unguess, founded in 2015 as AppQuality within the Politecnico di Milano’s “Mobile Lab” research center, offers crowdtesting and related services to businesses. Its offerings include UNGUESS Experience for UX/customer experience optimization, UNGUESS Quality for software defect and bug verification, and UNGUESS Security, which leverages a crowd of 500 certified Italian ethical hackers. The company employs more than 80 professionals and serves over 300 clients across Italian and international companies, including Pirelli, Costa Crociere, Sky Italia, ING, Enel, Lottomatica, Intesa Sanpaolo and Axa. Unguess plans to use the new funding to consolidate its position in the Italian market, strengthen expansion into other strategic European countries, and support development of its platform with new solutions, content and services. The business has expanded its range of tests across digital products and physical devices to provide relevant tests, insights, and feedback from real users on a variety of digital devices and interfaces. AppQuality is a Milan-based provider of a crowdtesting platform that helps companies detect defects and optimize customer experience across apps, websites, e-commerce platforms, IoT devices and chatbots. The platform leverages a community of approximately 14,000 qualified testers to evaluate and improve digital solutions. Clients include around 100 companies, among them Pirelli, BMW, Bending Spoons, Unicredit, Moncler, Allianz, Enel, Vodafone and Dyson. Founded in 2015 by Luca Manara (CEO), Edoardo Vannutelli and Filippo Renga, the company was accelerated within PoliHub. AppQuality raised €3m in funding from investors including P101 SGR, ITA500, Italian Angels for Growth (IAG), Club degli Investitori and Club Italia Investimenti 2. The company intends to use the funds for international expansion and to develop additional solutions.
