Uru
620 8th Avenue, 38th Floor, New York, 10018, United States
Overview
Uru builds technology that identifies surfaces and moments in online videos to place logos, artwork or ads in a way the company says is more seamless than traditional formats. Its system is content-aware: it identifies objects and higher-level themes to avoid inappropriate placements and can spot natural breaks for mid-roll ads. Uru’s approach is positioned for immersive media, including augmented and virtual reality. The company is in early commercial stages, still signing advertisers and publishers and has held discussions with adtech firm AppNexus. Founders Bill Marino (CEO) and Brunno Attorre (CTO) met at the Cornell Tech Startup Studio and won the Startup Award.
