Overview

URX develops mobile deep-linking technology that lets links route users to the best destination whether they have an app installed or are on the web. Its core products include tools for linking from mobile ads into app product pages and a new universal link service called Omnilinks, built on an open source framework called Turnpike. The company says Omnilinks work by leveraging existing meta tags and a simple urx.io prefix to expose deeplink routes with minimal developer changes. URX initially focused on e-commerce and charges e-commerce app developers a fee on top of ad costs when users convert via its links. It lists clients including Spotify, HotelTonight, Threadflip, Tapestry, WillCall, and Silvercar, but declined to provide revenue or detailed operating metrics. URX reports Omnilinks growth at "triple digits" with launch partners and is positioning the technology as an open working proposal to expand deeplinking beyond paid campaigns. URX builds deeplinks and an open-source Turnpike framework to send users directly to product pages inside apps, enabling targeted ecommerce advertising. It analyzes product pages to create thousands of ad variants and uses a product graph and machine learning to match users to offers and optimal timing. URX displays ads in other mobile apps and charges ecommerce developers a fee on top of the ad cost when users are deeplinked to purchase pages. The company reported test results such as a 0.8% CTR and a high return on ad spend, both roughly double industry averages. URX is an eight-person team based in San Francisco's South Park and participated in Y Combinator Summer 2012. It plans to capitalize on broader deeplink support from Google, Facebook, and Twitter and competes with other mobile retargeting providers like Deeplink.me, TapCommerce, and ActionX.
