Valres specializes in the collection and treatment of hazardous infectious medical waste. It uses technology from the Italian group Econos under an exclusive agreement for Spain. The process enables infectious waste to be shredded and sterilized through the combined action of steam and microwaves. At the time of the report Valres was finishing construction of a treatment plant in Picassent (Valencia). Angels Capital, the venture fund managed by Atitlán Capital, invested around €1 million to acquire a majority stake in the company. The investment establishes a majority investor as Valres completes its Picassent facility and prepares to operate its waste-treatment services.
