Vantia Therapeutics is a Southampton-based pharmaceutical company developing novel small-molecule drugs. It has two clinical Phase II candidates: VA106483 for nocturia and VA111913 for dysmenorrhoea. The company also advances preclinical and discovery programmes based on protease inhibition with potential applications in oncology and inflammation. Vantia intends to use the funds to advance the development of its two clinical candidates. Formed in 2008 as a spin-out of Ferring Research Ltd’s small molecule R&D, the company is led by CEO Andrew Crockett, who joined in June 2011. It occupies 10,000 sq ft of chemistry and biology facilities at Southampton Science Park.
