Overview
Vayana is a trade credit infrastructure platform based in Pune, India, that provides supply-chain finance and trade enablement solutions across all tiers of supply chains. It connects corporates and their trade ecosystems to provide digital, convenient, and affordable access to credit for payables and receivables. The company has facilitated the financing of over USD 30 billion for more than 300,000 enterprises across 3,000+ supply chains. Vayana’s network spans 600 cities and 2,000+ pin codes in India. The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate its commitment to providing affordable financing throughout the supply chain and to introduce new products to enhance its trade credit, compliance, and risk management platforms. Vayana is led by CEO Ram Iyer. Vayana Network is a B2B trade finance intermediary that connects SMEs and corporates with financial institutions to provide low‑cost access to trade loans. Founded in 2017 and based in Pune, the company says it has facilitated $10 billion in loans to date and processed over two million transactions. Vayana reports it is set to do more than $10 billion of trade financing in India alone in the current financial year. The startup plans to use fresh capital to build more products to help SMEs and MSMEs manage working capital and become credit‑ready. It also plans to launch Vayana ITFS (International Trade Finance Services) at GIFT City in FY23 to enable exporters and importers to access international trade finance facilities at competitive rates. The company cites a World Bank finding of a $380 billion MSME credit gap in India as a market opportunity. Vayana Network is a technology-based third-party B2B trade financing platform that facilitates trade finance across large, medium corporates and SMEs. The company says it has processed over Rs 4,000 crore in financing via nine lending partners in India. It was selected by GSTN as one of 34 GST Suvidha Providers (GSP). Vayana recently split from its parent company, Vayana Pvt Ltd (VPL). The business plans to use new equity funding to further strengthen its B2B trade financing network in India and expand abroad. Jungle Ventures has highlighted the company’s transaction data and GSP positioning as advantages for partnering with banks and financial institutions.
