Overview

VectorY Therapeutics is developing vectorized antibody therapies that combine therapeutic antibodies with one-time AAV-based delivery to the CNS. Its lead program, VTx-002, is a preclinical vectorized antibody designed to selectively clear misfolded and aggregated TDP-43 to treat ALS. The company says the approach restores normal TDP-43 function and aims to provide disease-modifying benefit for patients. VectorY’s platform targets proteinopathies underlying multiple neurodegenerative diseases and the pipeline includes programs beyond ALS, including Huntington’s disease. The company highlights in-house expertise in antibodies, AAV vectors, protein degradation, manufacturing and neuroscience. VectorY will use new financing to move VTx-002 into clinical development and to accelerate its broader vectorized antibody platform and additional programs. VectorY Therapeutics develops next-generation gene therapies that use vectorized antibodies delivered by a novel AAV platform and antibody- and RNA-based targeted degradation technologies. The company is building a pipeline aimed at muscular and CNS diseases, including programs targeting ALS and Alzheimer’s. It completed an oversubscribed €31 million seed financing to fund pre-clinical proof of concept and to establish proprietary manufacturing capabilities. Planned manufacturing investments include a state-of-the-art multi-product GMP facility in the Netherlands with suspension-based AAV production up to 2,000L for clinical and commercial supply. VectorY was launched in October 2020 and operates laboratories and offices at the Amsterdam Science Park. The company has appointed Alexander Vos as CEO and Dr. Sander van Deventer as CTO and plans further team expansion.
