Vidia

São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Overview

A Vidia partners with hospitals to use idle surgical-capacity and match patients who need elective procedures, creating a third-way between regulated health plans and the public system. Launched in 2021, the startup has generated R$3 million in additional revenue for partner hospitals and provided access to care for more than 500 families. Initially focused on low-complexity elective surgeries for children and adults, the company recently added plastic-surgery offerings. It is developing a new product that bundles surgical expertise with other health services so employers without budgets for plans can offer access to employees. CEO and cofounder Thiago Bonini frames the service as an alternative for patients willing to pay for care but without traditional plans. A Vidia operates a digital platform that connects hospitals directly with patients to streamline scheduling and delivery of elective surgeries. The company offers packaged procedures that include the surgical team, operating room, exams and consultations so patients face no surprise costs. Users can choose and schedule procedures fully online or by phone, and the platform provides payment options including installment plans and online crowdfunding. A Vidia says its model reduces patient costs by approximately 40% and targets people without health insurance or whose plans do not cover procedures. The startup launched recently and is initially operating in São Paulo and Campinas with four hospital and clinic partners and two additional hospitals joining soon; in pre-launch it facilitated access to more than ten surgeries. Financially, A Vidia raised R$4 million last year in a round led by Canary, with participation from Aimorés Investimentos and angel investors.
