Palo Alto-based Vinci builds software that leverages an in-house artificial intelligence model to speed up hardware and chip simulations. The product’s first focus is heat simulation, addressing the growing thermal challenges posed by advanced AI chips that often require liquid cooling, and the company plans to expand into additional simulation areas. Vinci’s engine can run at virtually any stage of the chip design process and is engineered to avoid the hallucination errors common in large language models. The startup is running pilot programs with several major chipmakers, and ten chip companies have benchmarked its software. Vinci employs roughly 25 people and intends to monetize through a usage-based pricing model. Including the latest financing, the company has raised a total of $46 million from investors.
