Virtual Instruments delivers the VirtualWisdom analytics platform that captures, correlates and analyzes infrastructure performance across physical, virtual and cloud environments. Load DynamiX provides storage workload acquisition, analysis and modeling plus workload generation appliances for validating and stressing complex infrastructures. The two companies have merged to create an end-to-end infrastructure DevOps platform that combines infrastructure instrumentation with storage performance analytics. The combined product portfolio is intended to give customers comprehensive, correlated visibility into application workloads and underlying infrastructure to lower costs and improve performance. The companies say they will accelerate joint innovation and tighter product integration to address heterogeneous hybrid on-premise and cloud environments. The merged entity retains the Virtual Instruments name and will be led by CEO Philippe Vincent of Load DynamiX. Virtual Instruments is a San Jose-based provider of Infrastructure Performance Management (IPM) solutions for physical, virtual and cloud computing environments. The company developed the VirtualWisdom platform, which provides end-to-end visibility into real-time performance, health and utilization metrics across open systems. Its customers include organizations across major verticals such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Services, Retail, Manufacturing and Government. Founded in June 2008 as a spin-out from Finisar Corp and led by CEO John W. Thompson, the company has been building its IPM offering since inception. Virtual Instruments intends to use recent funding to invest in product development and expand its market presence. The company raised $27.5M in a Series D round to support those efforts. Virtual Instruments is a Scotts Valley, California–based provider of SAN (storage area network) monitoring and virtual infrastructure optimization solutions. Its products enable large-scale data centers to optimize storage networks and server infrastructure to improve performance, availability, and utilization of their virtual operating environment. On 12/04/2010 the company received a new working capital line of credit from Bridge Bank, National Association. Bridge Bank is a business bank headquartered in Silicon Valley and a subsidiary of Bridge Capital Holdings (NASDAQ: BBNK). Virtual Instruments said it will use the facility to offer its customers additional purchase financing options.
