Overview
Founded in June 2008 by CEO Angga Dwimas Sasongko, Visinema produces TV shows, feature films, commercials and other content and controls much of the content lifecycle from concept to distribution and monetization. The company is organized into segments including Visinema Pictures for theatrical releases, Visinema Content for streaming platforms (Netflix, iFlix, Gojek's GoPlay) and Visinema Campus, a talent development program. Its clients have included Unilever, Toyota and Honda. Visinema plans to grow its animation production by partnering with or acquiring Indonesian animation studios and aims to release its first animated feature film, Nussa, this year; Nussa began as characters developed for YouTube. The company intends to expand into more Southeast Asian markets and to target international streaming services entering Indonesia such as Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Catchplay. Financially, Visinema raised a $3.25 million Series A led by Intudo Ventures, bringing total disclosed funding to $5.25 million including an earlier seed from GDP Ventures.
