Overview

VISO TRUST provides an AI-driven third-party risk management (TPRM) platform that collects, analyzes, and continuously monitors vendor artifacts to produce real-time, evidence-based assessments. The platform automates vendor assessments, analyzes control presence, testing methodologies, exceptions, and Nth-party references, and integrates with existing workflows to reduce manual burden. VISO TRUST says it cuts vendor assessment and onboarding time by up to 90%, completes rapid assessments in 5–7 days, and achieves a 98% vendor adoption rate; customers include Upwork, Instacart, Notion, and Bain Capital. The company aggregates sources such as breach advisories, SBOMs, and SEC filings to provide continuous security intelligence and real-time insights. Following a $24M funding round, VISO TRUST plans to accelerate platform innovation, scale its artifact-based platform, and build an adaptable AI governance framework focused on real risk reduction. It serves a global customer base across sectors including financial services, healthcare, and technology. Viso Trust is a San Francisco-based third-party cyber risk management platform co-founded by former CISO Paul Valente (CEO) and security and technology leader Russell Sherman (CTO). The product leverages document heuristics, machine learning, and natural language processing to discover, classify, and assess relevant control language in artifacts that third parties already have. This automation is intended to free risk and security teams from manual tasks like reading documents and analyzing spreadsheets. In March 2022 the company raised $11M in a Series A led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from Work-Bench, Sierra Ventures, Lytical Ventures and individual investors including Kevin Mandia, George Kurtz, and Doug Merritt. BCV partner Enrique Salem will join Viso Trust’s board of directors as part of the round. In under a year the company has scaled rapidly among customers ranging from hyper-growth tech companies to Fortune 500 enterprises across industries such as banking, automotive, and retail. Viso Trust builds a platform that leverages AI and a "social due diligence" network to deliver continuous third-party risk reports. The platform automatically extracts data from source documents and audits to surface key information about vendor relationships. The company validated its core concepts with over 300 chief information security officers and security professionals and cites an early customer, Ilumio, which reduced security staff time per third‑party relationship from more than eight hours to 30 minutes. Viso Trust said it raised $3 million and will use the funds to support expansion and hiring and to invest in sales, marketing, and R&D. The product aims to eliminate questionnaire-based interactions and speed vendor security reviews across additional risk areas such as business continuity and privacy. The founders previously led security teams at LendingClub and ASAPP, and the company is San Francisco-based.
