Vivint Smart Home sells a comprehensive suite of connected devices—including remote locks, video doorbells, cameras, smoke detectors and security solutions—that operate seamlessly with Amazon Alexa. Unlike many piecemeal competitors, the company positions itself as an end-to-end smart-home provider, bundling hardware, software and monitoring services. Vivint reports serving over one million customers and generating more than $650 million in annual revenue. The company was acquired by The Blackstone Group for $2 billion in 2012, a relationship that continues today. Proceeds from its latest financing will fuel growth initiatives and expand research and development aimed at further “redefining the home experience,” according to CEO Todd Pedersen. Management views this capital as a strategic vote of confidence that strengthens its market leadership as smart-home adoption accelerates.
