Overview
Volta develops VX1, an AI and deep-learning software cleared by the FDA in December 2020 to assist interventional cardiac electrophysiologists with real-time manual annotation of 3D anatomical and electrical maps of the atria. The tool is used during AFib and atrial tachycardia procedures and aims to detect and localize abnormal regions to help clinicians decide where to ablate (radiofrequency) or freeze (cryotherapy). Volta says VX1 could offer faster and more accurate identification of zones of interest, potentially improving precision and consistency and reducing repeat treatments. The company plans to accelerate new product development and support additional clinical trials. It is preparing for U.S. commercialization and pursuing further regulatory approvals. Financially, Volta has amassed over $73.7M (€70M) in total capital raised to date.
