Mediabong provides a contextual advertising platform that leverages algorithms based on user psychology, semantic profiling and performance to deliver video ads. The company was founded in 2011 by Laurent Bury (CEO) and is also led by COO Priyesh Patel. Its patented SyncRoll technology allows advertisers to place a video ad in-line in the middle of a story and resume playback without latency when a user scrolls back. Mediabong works with news organizations including Newsweek, CBS, Reuters, AFP and the Associated Press, and with brands such as Land Rover, L'Oreal and Unilever. It has an office in New York and plans to use new funding to expand into the United States. The recent Series B is intended to accelerate the launch of SyncRoll and support the company's US expansion.
