Warwick Acoustics

Unit 3, Nw07 Mira Technology Park, Watling Street, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV10 0TU, United Kingdom

Overview

Warwick Acoustics develops in-car electrostatic speakers that deliver high sound quality while offering a slim profile for greater cabin-design flexibility. Its products are manufactured from upcycled, easy-to-recycle materials and do not use rare earth metals. The company is a spin-out from Warwick University’s engineering department and is led by CEO Dr Mike Grant. Warwick has already commercialized a range of premium headphone systems that have won over 30 industry awards and retail for up to £50,000. The company raised new funding to expand its manufacturing capabilities and scale production. It intends to invest in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and ramp up manufacturing capacity with the proceeds. Warwick Acoustics develops ElectroAcoustics Panel (EAP) systems that aim to improve in‑car acoustic performance while reducing weight and power consumption, and also builds premium personal and studio headphones. Its low‑profile EAP panels can be made in varied shapes to allow vehicle designers new styling options. Over the last 12 months the company demonstrated a full EAP system in a vehicle, completed three customer‑funded proof‑of‑concept projects and passed key automotive environmental tests. The firm launched the BRAVURA premium electrostatic headphone in September, with orders already exceeding the initial production run, and supplies the audio industry across four continents. Established in 2002 as a University of Warwick spin‑out, Warwick Acoustics employs 30 people at its headquarters at Mira Technology Park in Nuneaton. The company plans to use recent funding to accelerate development and commercialization of its first in‑car systems and capitalise on recent commercial progress.
