Overview
Weav builds a universal API for commerce platforms that gives fintechs and financial institutions access to real-time, user-permissioned commerce data. Its API aggregates and standardizes sales, inventory and account data across platforms (Stripe, Square, Shopify and PayPal) to power products such as lending, underwriting, financial planning and analysis, real-time funding and business management tools. The company launched its API in January and says “thousands” of businesses have used products built on its infrastructure, with API call volume growing 300% month over month. Weav has a partnership with Brex — Brex launched Instant Payouts for Shopify sellers using the Weav API — and Brex founders personally invested in the round. Founded last year by engineers Ambika Acharya, Avikam Agur and Nadav Lidor after participating in the W20 Y Combinator batch, the startup aims to enable a new class of embedded B2B fintech applications for merchants, creators and small businesses. Weav raised $4.3M in seed funding to accelerate product development and platform integrations.
