Wedio operates a peer-to-peer camera-sharing platform that lets filmmakers and photographers rent professional film equipment with global insurance. Founded in April 2018 by Daniel Sand, Kasper Vesth and Morten Aebeloe and based in Aarhus, Denmark, the company hosts more than 20,000 listings representing over €40 million in equipment value. The platform reports a community of almost 100,000 monthly creators. In April 2023 Wedio raised a total of €1.25M in seed funding, including a Wefunder crowdfunding campaign that contributed €156,867. Backers included VF Venture (now part of Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund, EIFO) and Founderment, with new capital of €450k noted in the round. Wedio intends to use the funds to expand its community into other European markets.
