Whoosnap operates a platform that connects companies with a community of photographers who provide real-time, on-demand photos and videos for a fee. The service was born for journalistic use and expanded into InsurTech through a crowdsourcing mechanism combined with a system to certify authenticity of shots. In August the company launched Insoore, a service that connects insurance and fleet management companies with photographers who produce photographic vehicle documentation on demand. Insoore will be distributed globally via an agreement with OCTO Telematics. Whoosnap says it has more than 300,000 users and has received around one million pieces of multimedia content in response to requests. The company intends to use new funds to expand its service internationally and to make a fraud-fighting tool available to insurance companies.
