The startup was founded in 2012 by Massimo Ciuffreda (CEO) and Michele Di Mauro (CTO). Previous investors include Matteo Riffeser Monti, Nana Bianca and CII2. wiMAN operates a wifi social platform and hardware that allows retailers to share their wifi connection with clients for free. The company’s routers are installed in roughly 2,000 public places in Italy and 500 abroad. Founded in 2012 by Massimo Ciuffreda and Michele Di Mauro and based in Mattinata (FG), Italy, wiMAN has built both the technology and distribution to serve physical retail locations. The startup intends to use new capital to consolidate its presence in Italy and expand internationally, mainly into the USA and Brazil. It also plans to release a new version of its mobile app to support growth. Early backers include Matteo Riffeser Monti and Nanabianca.
