Wizpert operates an on-demand expert advice platform connecting users with experts in areas such as programming, business, and wellness, with programming as its initial launch category. The product offers free accounts with 100 complimentary points, a three-minute intro session to evaluate experts, and longer paid chats where users tip experts using a virtual coin currency. The company shifted toward a virtual currency model (50 coins for $2; 600 for $20; 2,500 for $75) and takes a cut of experts' virtual earnings. Over the past year Wizpert grew its expert roster from a few hundred to more than 4,000 and built a community of over 10,000 users; it is in the process of hiring its seventh employee.
