Wristcam produces a camera-equipped band for the Apple Watch that can shoot 4K images and 1080p video. The product launched late last year following a successful crowdfunding campaign and entered a public beta in December. The company says it has sold "thousands" of units, which currently retail for $299 on its site, and after earlier COVID-19 supply-chain issues is now fulfilling orders daily. Wristcam plans to add live video and continue R&D on a computer vision engine for wearables. CEO Ari Roisman said the new funding will be used to scale the team, increase production, support go-to-market efforts, and advance R&D. Part of the plan is effectively doubling headcount by early next year to support those initiatives.
