X-EPIC is building China’s EDA industrial software stack and verification tools, including hardware simulators, FPGA prototype verification, formal verification, intelligent verification, and logic simulation. The company has launched an open-source EDA project and China’s first open-source EDA community, EDAgit.com, and released EpicSim, which it says is the world’s fastest open-source digital simulator. X-EPIC optimized iVerilog to achieve more than 2× performance improvement in RTL simulation, expanded Verilog language support, and calibrated simulation accuracy to match commercial software. Founded in March 2020, the core team is drawn from leading EDA, integrated circuit design, software and AI companies with an average of over 20 years’ experience. After raising RMB100 million in a Pre-A financing, the company plans to accelerate global R&D deployment, integrate AI, machine learning and cloud computing, and speed the launch of next-generation EDA verification products and platforms. X-EPIC positions its open-source strategy to lower barriers for EDA R&D, grow local talent, and improve China’s EDA industry chain amid a market dominated by Synopsys, Cadence and Mentor.
