Y42 offers a low-code, end-to-end data platform designed to replace disparate point-to-point tools by integrating, transforming, orchestrating and visualizing customers' data. The company positions its single platform as an alternative to services such as Fivetran, Airbyte, dbt and Tableau. Y42 sits on Google Cloud and often recommends BigQuery, and larger vendors like Snowflake have expressed interest in partnering. The platform is built on a lot of open-source software and the company contributes to GitLab’s Meltano project. y42 runs on Google Cloud; its 25-person team manages about 50,000 jobs per day and serves customers including LifeMD, Petlab and Everdrop. Founded in 2020 and based in Berlin, the company until this round was self-funded and had raised some angel capital. The company raised a $2.9M seed and plans a Series A toward the end of the year, with the founder saying he preferred a small round to avoid diluting the team and expects the Series A to be roughly 10x larger.
