Yenir, founded in 2020 by Servet Akdoğan and Dolunay Kaplan, rescues products removed from retail and production channels due to date, seasonality, or packaging damage and sells them at discounts. The company has sold items across categories including food, cleaning, cosmetics and electronics via a mobile app for two years and in November opened Turkey’s first circular market. With its new physical store Yenir aims to offer roughly 10,000 products daily to consumers at discounts ranging from 15–90%. After completing a new financing at a $5 million valuation, the startup plans to increase the number of circular markets in major Turkish cities in 2024 to drive environmental and economic sustainability. The company says it will pursue international expansion to Europe in 2025 while prioritizing metropolitan areas with high waste levels. Yenir emphasizes the social and financial impact of its model and intends to scale that impact through additional store openings.
