Fazla emphasizes delivering the highest environmental, social and economic benefits through waste reduction and management. Fazla Gida is an Istanbul-based foodtech startup operating a centralized cloud platform to help food companies manage unsold inventories and maximize returns via resale, donations, animal-feed reuse, or recycling. The company analyzes and classifies surplus using the Food Recovery Hierarchy model and cross-references classified surplus with ecosystem partners—secondary sales, animal-feed and biogas players—with end-to-end traceability. It works with multinational clients including Migros, Metro, Nestle, Pepsi and Danone. Founded in 2017, Fazla Gida was recognized by Techstars and the Metro Accelerator Berlin program and is one of nine global organizations to receive direct UN support via its development programme. Operational metrics reported include saving over 19,000 tons of food, preventing more than 62,000 tons of carbon emissions, and completing more than 70,000 transactions on its platform. Financially, including today’s €2.5 million funding round the firm has accumulated just over €3.4 million in total funding.
