Overview

Yonder is a rewards credit card platform that targets Millennial and Gen Z customers with monthly-changing rewards across dining, entertainment, lifestyle, online and travel. The product lets members earn 1 point per £1 spent (up to 5 points per £1 at partners), with each point worth roughly 2.5p and redeemable toward experiences and travel; the company markets proprietary travel benefits called Fights and Stays. Founded in 2021 by Tim Chong with co-founders Theso Jivajirajah and Harry Jell, Yonder aims to rebuild consumer relationships with credit cards and encourage responsible credit use. The company reports 3x year-over-year growth, members have spent almost £200 million and visited Yonder’s experience partners more than 60,000 times since launch. The team is currently 45 people and plans to hire to support expansion and new product development across Europe and other international markets. Yonder issues a credit card that mixes a traditional card rewards model (comparable to Amex or Chase Sapphire) with a points-based scheme redeemable at London venues such as cinemas, wine merchants and eateries. The product is positioned as an experience-led city companion rather than a pure financial product. The founders—Tim Chong (CEO), Harry Jell and Theso Jivajirajah—launched the company after struggling to find good credit options for expats in the U.K. Yonder is not a bank and uses a debt warehouse to finance its credit card receivables. Financially, the company closed a £12.5M equity Series A and also secured a £50M debt facility to expand its U.K. offers. Management says the plan is to expand globally and it intends to extend the round to members via a private crowdfund going live in April. The funding produced a post-money valuation of more than £70 million. Yonder offers a credit card and rewards program that gives members access to exclusive drinking, dining and leisure experiences and waives foreign-exchange fees when spending abroad. The product includes partnerships with hospitality brands such as The Gladwin Brothers and Kricket restaurants. The company secured FCA authorisation in nine months, an operational milestone it highlights. Yonder plans to use the funds to grow the team and expand its selection of rewards and features. From launch it is opening a waitlist to London customers and inviting applicants to join a Founding Members’ program for early access to the card. The business was co-founded by Theso Jivajirajah, Harry Jell and CEO Tim Chong.
