The company offers software and services to develop, deploy and manage business-critical PHP applications both on-premise and in the cloud. Zend notes PHP powers 35% of the world’s websites, underscoring its market relevance. Zend plans to use the new capital to launch cloud offerings, pursue partner initiatives, and expand its global sales force. The company operates offices in France, Germany, Ireland, Israel and Italy and is led by CEO and co-founder Andi Gutmans. Financially, Zend received a $7M equity investment as part of a $16.5M round announced in May 2010.
