Overview
Zenda (formerly nexopay) is a UAE-based startup offering a parent-facing app that enables real-time school fee payments and streamlines collections for educational institutions. The platform removes the need for bank deposit slips, processes transactions in real time, and includes an embedded financing option that extends tuition credit to parents on flexible repayment terms. Since launch the startup says its users have grown 20x and the app reached over $100 million in annual contracted payment volumes by the close of last year. Founded in June last year by Raman Thiagarajan and Haseeb Ahmed, both ex-McKinsey staff, Zenda is using new funding to accelerate product refinement, market development and customer experience. The company currently operates in the UAE and India and plans to enter Egypt as its third market as part of a broader push into Africa. In the long term Zenda aims to expand beyond school fee payments into other family-centric personal financial management products to support household financial wellness.
