Overview
Zodia Custody is a digital-asset custody company founded by Standard Chartered that provides custody services for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. The firm announced an investment from National Australia Bank’s venture arm, NAB Ventures, though the amount was not disclosed. Zodia plans to build an Australian domestic digital-asset exchange ecosystem and says many exchanges are migrating assets onto its platform. That migration is intended to prepare clients for stricter regulatory requirements expected to take effect in 2025. The company is also positioned to offer custody services to prospective digital-asset ETF applicants if and when they receive approval from the Australian Securities Exchange. The investment increases Zodia’s backing from major financial institutions. Zodia Custody is a regulated crypto custodian based in London, UK. Led by CEO Julian Sawyer, the company offers custody services for Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Chainlink, Uniswap, Wrapped Bitcoin and USD Coin to institutional investors. Its services are designed to enable institutions to navigate the cryptoasset space safely by mitigating operational and regulatory risks. Zodia is registered with the United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority. The company raised $36m in a Series A funding round co-led by SBI Holdings and SC Holdings and intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
