Zymofix
Kerrebroek 66B, Deinze, Oost-Vlaanderen, 9850, Belgium
Overview
Zymofix develops and operates Zyft, a proprietary solid-state fermentation platform that cultivates microorganisms on thermally processed agricultural sidestreams which remain part of the delivered formulation. The company is partnering with Ghent University on MicroFix, a three-year, €3.2 million research collaboration led by Prof. Tina Kyndt to build a scientific framework linking production conditions to microbial physiology, functional traits, and crop responses. Zymofix secured a €1.9 million VLAIO grant to fund its portion of that research, which will involve microbiology, plant science and modelling work. The project aims to make microbial agricultural products more predictable and reliable, strengthen regional microbial biotechnology expertise, and support creation of high-skilled R&D positions. The company also positions its approach as supporting circular bioeconomy goals through valorisation of agricultural sidestreams.
