Backbone offers a browser-based supply-mesh platform that virtualizes decentralized supply chains and surfaces replacement vendors to respond to disruptions in real time. The product aggregates production compliance, yields, and audit reporting data into a visual dashboard and estimates item costs while accounting for supply chain variability. It is customizable for regulated industries such as pharma and agriculture and initially engaged with cannabis and hemp suppliers. Backbone plans to expand into agriculture, hemp, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals and to facilitate cannabis transactions between the U.S. and U.K. The company says it has over 100 customers, about 65 employees, and is on track to triple revenue for the second time in two years.
