  Medic Vision develops SafeCT, a bolt-on system that integrates with hospital CT networks to improve image quality and potentially lower radiation exposure. The SafeCT unit supports any brand or model of CT scanner and a single system can serve multiple scanners. The company received U.S. FDA clearance earlier this year and has secured three paying U.S. customers, including Imaging Healthcare Specialists. Management, led by CEO Eyal Aharon, is evaluating several U.S. operations models—hiring local talent or contracting with U.S. service/sales firms—and set a Jan. 1, 2012 deadline to choose a U.S. headquarters. The firm raised $3.5 million in a round led by Cleveland-based Bridge Investment Fund to support U.S. expansion. If Medic Vision selects Northeast Ohio for its U.S. location, it expects synergies with local imaging companies and health systems such as Philips, Hitachi, Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. Medic Vision Brain Technologies develops SafeCT, a technology intended to cut the harmful ionizing radiation from CT scans by as much as 80% while maintaining image resolution and diagnostics quality. The SafeCT system is currently being evaluated at Rambam medical center in Haifa. The company says the recent capital infusion will enable it to pursue FDA and CE regulatory clearance for the system. Founded in 2006, Medic Vision is a graduate of the Technion Institute incubator (Technion Seed) and is managed by its founders Ezer Bar-Aviv (CEO), Eliran Dahan (COO) and Zvi Dvir (CTO).
