99Pay, the fintech embedded within ride-hailing company 99, offers both payment services and direct-lending products under Central Bank licenses for Sociedade de Crédito Direto (SCD) and Instituição de Pagamento (IP) obtained in 2024. Since launching its credit operation in November 2022, the platform has originated approximately R$ 6 billion (≈ US$1.16 billion) in loans and now manages an active credit portfolio of about R$ 1.8 billion (≈ US$350 million). The service leverages 99’s large transportation user base to distribute financial products, positioning credit as a key growth pillar within the broader DiDi Chuxing ecosystem in Brazil. With more than 26 million customers reported for Q4 2024, 99Pay aims to deepen engagement by tailoring credit solutions to user needs. The fintech has repeatedly tapped structured credit markets to fund expansion, establishing three FIDC vehicles since inception. The latest raise strengthens liquidity for further loan origination while consolidating its standing in Brazil’s digital financial services landscape.
