  • Aegro

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2021

Aegro’s core product is a farm-management app—nicknamed the “Excel do Campo”—that helps manage crops and finances across more than 4,700 farms, covering operations from 100 to 10,000 hectares. The company saw exponential growth in hectares under management and surpassed sales projections in 2020, benefiting from accelerated digitalization during the pandemic. With the new capital, Aegro plans to integrate financial services into its platform, including credit, insurance and digital accounts, initially offered via partnerships and commission-based origination. Management says the app provides a rich view of producers’ financial lives and production, which the company will use to expand access to competitive financial products for good producers. Aegro aims to enable R$1.5 billion in loans to rural producers by the 2025 harvest, intermediated through its management app. The raise will also be used to accelerate ecosystem and product initiatives, and to invest in branding and software development. Aegro develops an agricultural management system that handles administrative farm operations including handling, costing, pest control and day-to-day operations. The platform was conceived by four computer-science professionals from UFRGS. Launched in 2016, the startup operates in 24 states and serves 355 subscribers managing a combined 520,000 hectares. The company has been growing at rates above 22% per month. Born in Porto Alegre, Aegro also maintains a branch in Piracicaba where it develops and refines specific agricultural applications. It plans to use recent funding to improve software, expand content (videos, manuals, courses) and enhance distribution of its systems and product.

  • goFlux

    Led · Equity · Jun 2021

goFlux provides a SaaS platform that digitizes the entire logistics process for agricultural road freight, handling quoting, negotiating, contracting and carrier payments. The company pairs logistics management with fintech services to facilitate access to financing for underbanked SME carriers. goFlux is focused on agri-freight across Brazil and Latin America and was founded in 2018. Planned product work includes goFlux View, a predictive-intelligence solution integrated into its contracting platform, and investments in AI for freight prediction. The company will use the Series A proceeds to expand its salesforce, strengthen fintech capabilities, and improve platform functionality, security, and compliance. goFlux aims to streamline freight operations and enhance productivity for shippers and carriers. GoFlux provides a digital freight platform that enables shippers and carriers to handle quotes, negotiations, contracting, documentation, fleet management and real-time monitoring. The platform can convert a carrier’s receivables into same-day payment and offers prepayment credit in conjunction with Banco Rendimento. GoFlux plans to structure its own FIDC by the end of the year to diversify financing sources for users. The company aims to transact $500 million in freight in 2021 (about 1.3% of the Brazilian market) and to double that volume in 2022. Founded in 2018 and based in São Paulo, GoFlux operated with a bootstrap mentality until this round. The startup positions itself as a network connecting large agriculture companies to transport companies, rather than an app for hiring individual drivers. It intends to use new funding to enhance its financial offerings and expand market reach, and to build tools and contracts to help companies protect freight and manage positions.
