    Tokyo Smoke is a cannabis lifestyle brand led by co-founder and CEO Alan Gertner that seeks to bring sophistication and design to the cannabis space through immersive experiences and designer retail locations. The company sells coffee, clothing and designer products in its retail stores. Tokyo Smoke recently acquired fellow designer cannabis brand Van der Pop. The company closed a Series B financing of approximately CAD$6m, which included CAD$4m announced in August. Proceeds from the round will be used for continued retail expansion, marketing and strategic acquisitions. Investors in the round included Aphria, Green Acre Capital Fund I and strategic investor Paul Rowan. Tokyo Smoke is a Toronto-based premium cannabis-oriented lifestyle brand led by co-founder and CEO Alan Gertner. The company operates designer retail spaces combining coffee, clothing and curated products and aims to bring design to the cannabis space through immersive experiences. Tokyo Smoke raised CAD$3m in a Series A financing. Backers named in the round include W. Brett Wilson, Chuck Rifici and Globalive Capital Inc. The company intends to use the funds for product development, growing the management team and international expansion, with a U.S. market entry planned for spring 2017. In collaboration with Aphria Inc., Tokyo Smoke will release four branded cannabis strains in the first quarter of 2017.

    Resolve Digital Health builds a smart medical cannabis delivery system, Breeze, paired with a cloud-based health information platform. Breeze delivers accurate, metered doses via pre-packaged single-use pods containing cannabis buds or oil, aiming to establish a standard of care. The company targets patients with cancer, arthritis, migraine, chronic pain and other conditions. After over two years of R&D, Resolve planned initial availability of its complete product ecosystem in Spring 2017 in select U.S. dispensaries. CannaRoyalty has provided seed capital, resources and multiple share acquisitions to support Resolve's research and development since its initial investment in October 2015. The company is positioned to commercialize its device-driven, measurable treatment solution for medical cannabis.
