Acurion develops the OncoGaze™ platform, an AI-powered image analysis system that detects clinically actionable cancer biomarkers from routine pathology slides. The technology is positioned to extract biomarker insights without requiring additional tissue or specialized molecular testing. Acurion builds on foundational research from co-founder and CSO Ludmil Alexandrov, Ph.D., and has published in leading oncology and scientific journals while expanding clinical collaborations. The company says it is moving from validation toward deployment and is focusing on clinical and regulatory milestones. Acurion closed an oversubscribed $4.3 million seed round to fund clinical validation, platform development, regulatory preparation, and commercialization. The company expects to announce further clinical collaborations and regulatory progress in the coming months.

  • Chimera Bioengineering

    Led · Equity · Apr 2022

Chimera Bioengineering is developing the GOLD Platform to improve control, reduce toxicity, and increase efficacy of engineered CAR‑T cell therapies for solid tumors. The company engineers T cells to selectively activate when they encounter tumor cells and deliver payloads to counteract the suppressive tumor microenvironment. Preclinical data cited by the BRACE program support the platform’s potential to apply CAR‑T curative potential to solid tumors. Chimera is based in Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS in South San Francisco, California. As BRACE Award winner, the company gained access to AFCR’s network of cancer experts, advisors and visibility that the program provides. Chimera says it will leverage that support and new capital to advance its platform toward transformative therapies for cancer patients in Asia and beyond.
