- Flare Network
Participated · Equity · Feb 2024
Launched in Q3 2020, Flare Network is built on a Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA) consensus and is designed to serve as a high-performance, Turing-complete layer for decentralized applications. Its core value proposition is enabling first-generation blockchains that lack native smart-contract functionality—including XRP, Dogecoin, Stellar Lumens and Litecoin—to run trustless, programmable applications. The network achieves this through interoperability features and its native Spark (FLR) token, which is scheduled for a large-scale airdrop to eligible XRP holders. Management positions the platform as a way to ‘unlock’ dormant value across these legacy ecosystems by bringing DeFi and other Web3 utilities to their communities. Although operating metrics such as users or revenue have not been disclosed, the project has attracted high-profile strategic investors, suggesting significant market interest. CEO Hugo Philion emphasizes that the fresh capital will accelerate ecosystem development and broaden chain integrations.
- Orb Labs
Participated · Seed · Feb 2023
Orb Labs builds cross-chain messaging protocols and tools for developers to enable blockchain interoperability. Its primary products are Earlybird, a cross-chain messaging protocol the company says is more than 10x cheaper than other protocols with configurable security models, and MagicLane, an omnichain token and messaging platform built on Earlybird. Founded in 2022 by Richard Adjei and Felix Madutsa, Orb Labs emphasizes efficiency, security, and gas-cost reductions for applications such as cross-chain exchanges, lending, and yield farming. The company claims Earlybird can make certain DeFi exchanges more than 40% cheaper on Ethereum versus protocols like Uniswap and enables trust-minimized native bridges for L1/L2 developers. Orb Labs raised $4.5M in a seed round and will use the proceeds to expand its team, accelerate product development, scale technology capabilities, and perform security audits ahead of launch. The firm is already in conversations with several DeFi and L1/L2 developers and is hiring across engineering, marketing, community, partnerships, integrations, and business development.
- Blocksport
Participated · Seed · Oct 2021
Blocksport is a Swiss‑Ukrainian startup founded in 2019 that builds white‑label branded community apps and an integrated NFT marketplace for traditional sports clubs and esports. Its product bundle includes monetization, gamification, fan engagement features and a secure fan‑wallet that supports votings, crowdfunding and clubcoins. In September the company closed a $500K Seed round led by Panda Capital and additionally raised $400K via token sales (ICO), bringing near‑term funding to $900K. Blocksport used the funds to build and launch its NFT platform, which is integrated with its other services to let clients create digital assets and clubcoins. Management says it will pursue another round of token funding later in the year and target a $10–15M Series A in 2022 aimed at reaching a $30–35M valuation. Co‑founders Vladimir Liulka and Semih Kaçan started the company after meeting in Zurich and are positioning it as an all‑in‑one solution against niche competitors across fan‑engagement and NFT verticals.
