- Cubist
Participated · Seed · Mar 2023
Cubist provides secure-by-design developer tools that help dApp engineers manage development, testing, deployment, and upgrade workflows in custom, security-focused CI/CD pipelines. Its first offering is an open-source SDK designed for multi- and cross-chain development and testing, allowing users to write cross-chain dApps as if they run on a single chain and to change chains or bridge providers with a single configuration line. The company also builds modular, security-focused tooling across the dApp lifecycle—from CI testing to push-button deployment backed by secure credential management—and is developing enterprise security offerings. Cubist closed a $7 million seed round and will use the funding to expand its team, accelerate product development, and scale its technological capabilities. The team includes former fraud operations executives and multiple computer-security professors and researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and UC San Diego who have collectively published over 80 research papers. Cubist positions its tools to reduce developer friction and prevent security mistakes that arise from stitching together incompatible infrastructure components.
- Squid
Participated · Seed · Jan 2023
Squid operates a connected multi-chain platform that reaches ecosystems without contracts, including Bitcoin and XRPL, and supports more than 100 networks. Its execution layer, Squid Intents, routes cross-chain transactions to market makers for fulfillment and settles them using Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) rather than deploying contracts on every chain. The platform supports over 20,000 tokens across major ecosystems and has facilitated more than $6B in lifetime volume since its January 2023 launch. Squid plans to use the new funding to accelerate expansion into consumer products. The company is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland.
