  Pika, founded in April 2023 by Demi Guo (CEO) and Chenlin Meng (CTO), builds AI software that automatically generates and edits 2D animation, 3D animation, anime, cartoons and film‑quality video from text. The company launched Pika 1.0 in November 2023 and rapidly gained traction in the Silicon Valley AI community. Its product claims movie‑level lighting and motion quality and aims to let anyone act as a video director. The team grew from a handful of founders to dozens within a year, and its Discord community approaches 800,000 users. Pika faces rising competition in the AI video space but continues to expand its research team and creator community. Financially, Pika has completed multiple venture rounds and, after its latest financing, has raised $135M in total with a post‑money valuation exceeding $470M. Pika is an AI video platform that generates and edits videos in diverse styles (3D animation, anime, cinematic) using a new generative model introduced in Pika 1.0. Pika 1.0 adds Text-to-Video, Image-to-Video, Video-to-Video, Expand, Change, and Extend features and launches a new web interface while continuing support on Discord. The product is positioned to make professional-quality video creation effortless and accessible to everyday consumers and creators. Pika launched in beta on Discord in late April 2023 and today has more than 500,000 users generating millions of videos each week; top users spend up to 10 hours a day creating with the platform. Pika-generated videos have gone viral on social media, with the #pikalabs hashtag on TikTok nearing 30 million views. Financially, Pika has raised $55 million in its first six months, including a $35 million Series A announced alongside the Pika 1.0 rollout.
