    Pharmacelera deploys its proprietary 3-D Quantum Mechanics and Artificial Intelligence engine, branded QaiM, to search the chemical “exaSpace” of trillions of molecules with high speed and accuracy. The platform can deliver drug candidates up to ten times better and 75,000 times faster than traditional AI-led discovery methods, and is applicable from hit identification through lead optimization. To date the company’s cross-disciplinary team has executed more than 100 discovery projects and secured repeat business from three large pharmaceutical companies as well as numerous biotech clients. Pharmacelera operates from Parc Científic de Barcelona, one of Europe’s key life-science hubs, and maintains a diversified, scalable service model. The firm formed a strategic alliance in 2023 with Silicon Valley “igniter” General Inception, becoming that group’s AI drug-discovery partner and strengthening IP for several GI portfolio companies. Current plans include establishing a permanent U.S. team to deepen relationships with biopharma customers on both coasts and expanding the technical capabilities of the QaiM engine. Although revenue figures were not disclosed, the repeat engagements with big pharma and over a hundred completed projects indicate growing commercial traction.

    Oncostellae is a Galician biopharmaceutical company founded in 2013 that develops locally acting therapies for gastrointestinal and oncology indications. Its lead asset, OST-122, is an orally delivered compound restricted to the gastrointestinal tract now in phase 2 for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, with a reported safety profile superior to competitors and potential in Crohn's disease and intestinal fibrosis. A second program, OST-499, is in phase 1 in patients with colorectal cancer and is designed to reactivate immune cells in the tumor microenvironment to increase the efficacy of current immunotherapies. The company intends to use the current financing to complete OST-122 phase 2 and to advance OST-499 research. Oncostellae highlights that OST-122 avoids injections and minimizes loss of efficacy from immunogenicity typical of biologics. Since 2013 the team has contributed to development of more than 25 products and to prior licensing transactions, and it expects to pursue a licensing agreement or raise a Series A in 2024–2026 after achieving clinical milestones. Oncostellae is a biotech company headquartered in Santiago de Compostela, founded in 2013 by a group of USC researchers led by Mabel Loza together with entrepreneur Julio Castro. The company focuses on discovering and developing new pharmaceutical compounds for inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, and immunological diseases, advancing candidates from early discovery to proof of concept in patients. It currently has two compounds in clinical development. Clinical trials are being run in several Spanish hospitals led from Galicia and by Dr. Manuel Barreiro, a reference in ulcerative colitis. The recent financing will allow the company to advance ongoing trials and obtain the scientific data demanded by industry. Oncostellae was the first Galician company to advance a first-in-class drug into clinical trials. Oncostellae is based in San Cibrao das Viñas, Spain, and focuses on discovering and developing small-molecule drugs for cancer. The company advances candidates from initial discovery through proof-of-concept in patients (clinical phase IIa) with the goal of licensing results and patents to established pharmaceutical companies. Its first project targets advanced prostate cancer; it also recently launched a program on irreversible JAK kinase inhibitors for oncology and inflammation and plans a selective TYK inhibitor project soon. Oncostellae collaborates on a Neogalfarma project with Galchimia, AMSLab and Nanogap. Founded in 2013 by Mabel Loza and colleagues including medicinal chemists associated with PaloBiofarma, the company is led by recently joined CEO Guido Kurz. It intends to use financing to advance its prostate and hematologic cancer programs and to consolidate the Neogalfarma collaboration.
