KnowledgeWork is a Japanese sales enablement company that has moved from a SaaS knowledge-sharing platform for sales teams into a provider of sales-specific AI agents for large enterprises. It sells three lines: Sales AX Consulting, in which consultants and forward-deployed engineers build and operate AI agents fitted to a customer's own sales process; Sales AI Products, including a tool that automates meeting minutes and CRM/SFA entry and a roleplay tool that runs practice sales conversations against AI avatars; and Sales AI Agent OS, launched in August 2026 as the underlying platform, composed of ontology, strategy, AI agent, and interface layers. Its software is deployed at major Japanese enterprises at thousands-of-seats scale, including NTT Docomo Business, Mizuho Bank, and Nissin Foods. The company is pursuing capital and business alliances with large corporates and their venture arms to widen distribution of its sales AI agents. KnowledgeWork was incorporated in March 2020 under CEO Koji Asano and is headquartered in the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Financially, the company had raised ¥6.12 billion cumulatively through its Series B in November 2023 and added ¥3.5 billion (~$22.1M) in the first close of its Series C in August 2026.

Metagen Therapeutics is a Japanese university-spinout (Juntendo, Keio, Tokyo Tech) founded in 2020 that leverages microbiome science to create both drug products and FMT-based medical services. Its lead oral FMT candidate, MGT-006, targets ulcerative colitis and is scheduled to enter a Japan-U.S. Phase 1/2 international trial between April and June 2026. Additional clinical studies are under way for gastrointestinal cancers (MGT-007) and Parkinson’s disease (MGT-008). An in-house “donor stool bank” in Yamagata has collected more than 800 donations, supporting both clinical trials and eventual commercial supply. The firm also promotes social adoption of stool donation (“献便”) to secure a stable supply chain for its therapies. Cumulatively, the company has raised ¥5.46 billion, providing runway for pipeline advancement, supply-chain optimization, head-count growth and IPO preparation.

  • Valpas

    Participated · Seed · Jun 2024

Valpas offers smart anti-bedbug bed legs and an IoT/AI-enabled mobile web app with in-app image recognition to keep rooms bedbug-safe 24/7 without chemicals. Its hardware prevents transferred pests from infesting rooms and the app helps identify and dispose of sightings. The company is already working with over 300 hotels across 40+ destinations, including premium brands such as Accor Hotels, The Luxury Collection, Design Hotels, ARP-Hansen and Bob W. The €4m seed investment will be used to ramp up production to meet increased demand ahead of a busy summer of international sport and travel. Valpas also plans to build partnerships with travel booking agents and platforms to make it easier for travellers to identify and choose bedbug-safe hotels. Valpas Enterprises develops an IoT bioengineered wellness system built into smart bed legs that trap and detect bed bugs and connect to a monitoring platform. Hotels replace existing bed legs with Valpas’ smart legs to monitor rooms in real time and receive notifications when bed bugs are caught inside the legs. The platform combines physical traps and sensors with notifications to prevent hitchhiking bed bug incidents and allow hotels to communicate they are not open for bed bugs. The company positions the solution as transforming the negative stigma associated with bed bugs into a competitive advantage for hotels. Valpas intends to use newly raised funds to advance internationalization and the mass production of its solution. The company is led by CEO Martim Gois.
