Light Blue Optics is a Cambridge, UK-based developer and supplier of miniature projection systems for high-volume applications in automotive, digital signage and consumer electronics. Its products use proprietary HLP™ technology to create bright, high-resolution images that remain in focus, work on varied surfaces and can respond to touch. The company's first product, Light Touch, is an interactive projector that transforms any flat surface into a 10” touch screen; it also offers Light Work. The $13M financing announced will enable LBO to continue building market opportunities for Light Touch and Light Work and to accelerate development of embedded interactive projection devices. The company says its Gen 2 embedded devices aim to deliver three times the brightness of a typical tablet screen using half the power. LBO also operates a development facility in Colorado Springs, USA.
