UroMems develops implantable mechatronics to treat stress urinary incontinence, centered on its UroActive smart automated artificial urinary sphincter. UroActive is an active implantable electronic AUS powered by a MyoElectroMechanical System (MEMS) designed to respond to patient activity without manual adjustments. The technology platform is protected by more than 200 granted patents and the company reports having surpassed key R&D and clinical milestones. UroMems is currently running the SOPHIA2 pivotal clinical trial in 21 centers across the U.S. and France as it prepares for regulatory submissions and commercialization. UroActive has not received FDA marketing authorization and is not available for sale in the U.S. or EU. The company has signaled plans to use recent financing to complete pivotal trials and advance toward regulatory approval and launch preparation.
