KaliVir develops next-generation oncolytic immunotherapies using its proprietary Vaccinia Enhanced Template (VET) platform to integrate multiple genetic modifications into viral backbones for systemic delivery and targeted expression of therapeutic transgenes within tumors. Its lead candidate, VET3-TGI, is being evaluated as both monotherapy and in combination with atezolizumab in the STEALTH-001 Phase 1/1b trial for patients with advanced solid tumors. The company plans to use the newly raised funds to support ongoing clinical development and patient enrollment in STEALTH-001 and for general corporate purposes. KaliVir is led by CEO Helena Chaye, PhD, JD, and is based in Pittsburgh, PA. Financially, the company has now raised a total of $25M following the $14M Series A extension.

Founded in June 2021 by Oh Hyun-ung, Step Lab develops space-grade mechanism technology including a launch-vibration-reducing separation ring used to connect and detach satellites from launch vehicles. Its flagship products include the separation ring and STEP POD, a CubeSat deployer that integrates an in-house vibration isolation system and is slated to fly aboard DaejeonSAT-1, giving the company its first flight heritage. Step Lab has expanded into payload technology, building a 4-meter-class, three-stage deployable SAR mesh antenna and developing an AI-based zoom optical module for space domain awareness through Korea’s Scale-up TIPS program. The company has also developed full small-satellite systems-integration capability via its DaejeonSAT-1 work, which will carry a selfie camera to confirm on-orbit status. With the recent Series A, Step Lab plans to scale mass production of its flight-proven mechanisms and accelerate global commercialization.

a2sys is developing a software platform aimed at optimising memory utilisation and data movement for AI infrastructure. The company was co-founded by former Samsung and Naver executive Lee Dong-soo and KAIST professor Yu Min-soo and was founded shortly before its seed round. It positions itself as a connector between memory manufacturers (including Samsung and SK Hynix) and AI service providers rather than as a chip maker. The founders argue that AI's evolution toward agentic systems is shifting bottlenecks from GPU computation to memory and data transfer efficiency. a2sys announced a KRW 16 billion (about $11M) seed raise to support development of its platform.

Founded by experts from institutions including the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, the company uniquely operates its own vacuum combustion testing facility to verify core technologies under space-like conditions. It is advancing autonomous operation capabilities using a combination of Physical AI and Agentic AI to reduce reliance on ground control amid increasing low Earth orbit congestion. Intergravity plans technology validation via the 5th Nuri rocket launch in 2026 and aims for orbital injection on a SpaceX vehicle with commercial services targeted for Q1 2027. Illimis Therapeutics develops therapies for central nervous system and immune disorders using its proprietary GAIA (Gas6-mediated Anti-Inflammatory Adaptor) platform.
