Konnex is developing a blockchain-enabled platform that standardizes autonomous robotic work into a "Robotics-as-a-Service" model, allowing companies to hire robots on demand with software-like flexibility. Its system combines smart contracting, real-time verification protocols, and instant payment rails to transform physical labor into a transparent, interoperable service layer. The company aims to unlock a share of the estimated $25 trillion global physical labor economy by moving robots out of closed, proprietary deployments and into an open, multi-hardware ecosystem. Current efforts focus on supporting multiple hardware providers, improving safety and efficiency through verification, and ensuring on-chain settlement of tasks. Led by CEO Jon Ollwerther—who has more than 15 years of robotics and media experience—the team is supported by industry veterans such as Brandon Torres Declet and Lucas Van Oostrum. The recent $15 million raise provides its primary capital and no revenue or user figures have been disclosed. Proceeds will fund platform expansion, additional hardware integrations, and further development of verification protocols for real-world autonomous operations.
